Fortschrittchen for iPhone and Apple Watch

This is a translation for convenience. The German version is the authoritative one.

In short

Fortschrittchen collects nothing about you. There is no account, no sign-in and no server that would have to belong to you. Your training data lives on your device.

What is stored

Your machines, exercises, sets and photos, along with your name and your settings. You enter all of it yourself, and you can export all of it as CSV at any time.

iCloud

If you turn on backup, the same data additionally lives in your private iCloud database. That belongs to your Apple account, not to us — we have no access to it and get to see none of it. With backup off, no record leaves your device.

Deleting everything

Deleting the app removes everything that is on the device. If iCloud backup was used, the copy there remains — it belongs to the user’s Apple account. It can be removed in System Settings under “Apple Account” → “iCloud” → “Manage Storage” → “Fortschrittchen”.

What does not exist

No analytics, no usage statistics, no crash reports to us, no advertising, no third-party components. Apart from iCloud, the app opens no network connection at all.

Notification

The one reminder after ten days is scheduled by your device itself. It uses no push service and contains only figures that are already on your device.

Camera and photos

The camera is only used when you photograph a machine. The image is scaled down and treated like any other record — it goes nowhere your sets do not go as well.

This website

This site loads nothing from third-party servers: no fonts from a vendor CDN, no embedded videos, no analytics, no cookies. That is also why there is no consent dialog. The host logs access as usual (IP address, time, requested file) in order to operate and secure the server.

Controller and legal notice

Controller within the meaning of the GDPR and provider under § 5 DDG (German Digital Services Act). The same details appear in the app under Settings → Legal notice and here in the legal notice.

Purposes and legal basis

We do not process personal data. The app collects nothing, sends nothing to us and opens no connection apart from the user’s own iCloud. There is therefore no purpose of processing and no processing for which a legal basis would be required. The data that arises in the app is processed by the user, for themselves, on their own device.

Recipients

None. There are no processors, no advertising partners and no analytics services. If iCloud backup is switched on, the data lives in the user’s private iCloud database; that relationship exists between the user and Apple, not with us.

Retention

For as long as the user wants. The data lives on their device and, where applicable, in their iCloud, until they delete it (see “Deleting everything”). Nothing is held by us that would need a retention period.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, data subjects have the right to information, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Because we hold no data about users, we cannot provide information beyond this text. Access and portability are met by the app directly: the CSV export in Settings hands out every set that was recorded.
